What keeps you busy with limitations?

When you're limited to what you can do, what keeps you busy without impeding your reason to have limitations?

Personally, my limitations are caused by sporadic and worsening joint pain, swelling and brain fog which limits me to what I can really do both movement-wise and hand-wise. I love art and to craft, so I have had to find ways to adapt crafting to what I am able to do without making the joint pain worse! If you love something enough you will find a way around what's stopping you.

Reading is another love for me to keep me busy, it is easy to do anywhere and can allow you to take your mind off the current situations even just for a little while. This love is never harmful, though can be quite hard if your eyes are sore or in a brain fog episode.

Planning and getting myself organized as explained in my planning posts is another point of enjoyment for me. Again it is hard when your hands hurt, but you are a perfectionist so your writing must be perfect.

Overall, I am always looking for a new project that I can push through even if I have to alter it. I've created things from stickers, bookmarks, and budget planning tools, to my newest trials which are still in the making! I am excited to share my work soon and speak about how I adapted to create what I have!

Are there things you wish you could still do or try even with your limitations?

There are definitely things that I used to be able to do, that even with adaptions are just not an option for me anymore. The gym independently is one of them, I used to love the gym prior to becoming sick, then the gym only brought me pain. Pain from the gym even simple movements lasted for days, fatigue did not help it either. Even with altering movements, adjusting machines, and starting from the bottom again, it was only doing harm. On top of that, it was extremely defeating as something you could do for hours amazingly to not being able to do basics. Was a hard factor to accept but not everything is for everyone, after you realize that you can move on and find other callings.

Finding what you enjoy and can find success in with your honest abilities brings along a lot of pride in your work and satisfaction.

Cheers! xo
